Argentina won the first set of the women’s beach handball world final 20:14. Denmark answered by taking the second 27:14. Neither set settled the title. On 28 June in Croatia, the final came down to a shoot-out, which Argentina won 6:2.

An award is a different piece of the story

Coaching perspective: watch the whole sequence
The last action of a shoot-out is easy to remember. For learning, rewind to its beginning. Watch the goalkeeper’s starting position, the developing pass and the attacker’s approach. What information becomes available at each stage? When does the goalkeeper commit?
Beach and indoor handball present different surfaces, rules and scoring situations. Copying a beach movement directly into an indoor drill may miss those differences. The useful connection is the habit of following information before judging the final action.
Choose two attempts from a shoot-out. Describe what you can see before discussing what the goalkeeper should have done. Then compare the decisions, including an attempt that ended in a goal. A successful outcome alone does not explain the choice.
The next major youth event on the indoor calendar was the Men’s 20 EHF EURO in Romania, scheduled for 8–19 July. It offered another opportunity to practise watching the build-up as carefully as the save. EHF tournament preview.
